Because Patty chastised me, here's a 2nd post for today

I want to take a cooking class. Yes, yes, I've come to hate cooking (http://musefromabroad.blogspot.com/2009/02/man-i-marry.html) but I love to eat way too much, so I'm looking to boost my technique and develop a love for culinary creation. I'm also hoping to meet some interesting people and maybe host a few dinner parties where guests rave about my cuisine and I gush, feigning modesty :). My mother has even nicknamed me "Moffa Stewart" because, aside from being a savvy decorator (toot! toot!), I absolutely love planning parties. Although, hosting them is an altogether other issue of mines that needs to be addressed but not now. I'm tackling one thing at a time and cooking is at the top of the list. Now I'm off to google to see if there are any cool cooking classes in my area. I'm all about self-improvement.

So far, I've found a lot of high ass places that don't seem worth the money. The Arboretum and the Huntington offer a class per month for around $50/class, which is the best price I found. There are a couple more but one wants to come to your house to teach you and who the hell wants to dirty up their own kitchen? Might as well just watch the food channel for free. And the other one looks really good except it's $95/class. I'm going to continue my search though. Sharon was telling me about one last year that sounded nice so I'll ask her about that one. As for dancing, let's cut a rug! What did you have in mind? Salsa? Belly dancing? Disco? Ballroom? Dirty? lol. Let me know what you find.

Well count me in for whatever! My motivation is social, fitness, and laughter. I figure I can get all three with just about any new thing I decide to try. Although, swing sounds a little frightening. Don't they toss you around like a rag doll to really fast music? If that's true, I'd better get a strong. partner.

I love cooking!!! Thank goodness I actually got this part from my father. I would have hated to have my mother's cooking skills passed on to me... Good luck w/ new recipes, building your own, etc...

Thanks. We found a class and will be cooking thai food sometime in May. I forget exactly when but it's in my calendar w/ a reminder on it. I'm going to try to take pics and post them on the blog.
